--}} 11 AM Agro-Art Contest: Agro-Art is a 3-dimensional fruit and vegetable artwork. The competition is open to kids ages 7 through 97 and will take place at the educational tent located on the festival grounds. Table space is limited. E-mail eggfestival@hotmail.com to reserve a table space.
--}} 11:30 AM Kiwanis Karnival: The Kiwanis Karnival will continue at Manson Park.
--}} 11:30 to 12 PM Karate Demonstration: A Karate Demonstration by Karate for Kids will be held.
--}} 12 PM Chicken Barbecue and Lobster Dinner: A Chicken Barbecue and Lobster Dinner will be served on the festival grounds. The Newport Fire Department coordinates the meal.

12:30 PM All Star Softball Game: An All Star Softball Game featuring local merchants vs. Channel 7 WVII TV will be held at Manson Park.
--}} 12:30 to 1:30 PM Courtney Graves and Brittany Neal: Courtney Graves and Brittany Neal will perform pop and country music.
--}} 1 to 1:45 PM Children's Book Reading: The Pittsfield Public Library will sponsor a children's book reading under the educational tent.
--}} 1:45 to 3 PM The Greater Bangor Players: The Greater Bangor Players, featuring Bangor High students, will perform under the instruction of Mike Sinclair.
--}} 2 to 3 PM Children's Discovery Program: Tony Sohns from the Children's Discovery Museum in Bangor will present "Leapin' Lizards."
3 to 3:30 PM Children's Book Reading: Author Carol Dean will be reading her books: The Henhouse and newly released The Live Bale of Hay.
--}} 3:15 to 4:30 PM Daybreak Red: Punk rock band Daybreak Red will provide musical entertainment.
--}} 3:30 to 4:30 PM Children's Discovery Program: Tony Sohns will present "The Bug Zoo."
--}} 4:45 to 5:45 Children's Music: Aaron McCannell will provide children's music and sing-a-longs.
--}} 4:45 to 6 PM Don Levesque: Don Levesque will offer rock, Irish, country and blue grass musical entertainment.
Petting Zoo: Pony Express Amusements will offer a Petting Zoo featuring pony rides and exotic animals such as an armadillo, toucan, tortoises, monkeys and more. Pictures with a 12-foot boa constrictor will be available.
--}} 6 PM Dog Costume Contest: The Dog Costume Contest will take place in the entertainment tent. All participants will be invited to march in the Pretty Puppy Parade around the festival grounds following the award ceremony.
--}} 7:15 to 9 PM High On Country: High on Country will perform rock music from the 1950s through the 1970s as well as new country and country gold.
--}} 9:45 PM Fireworks Display: The Pittsfield Kiwanis Club will provide a Fireworks Display over Manson Park.

Although a Mexican theme, the festival will be honoring veterans this year, and the annual parade will be led by area veterans. Any veteran wishing to march or ride in the parade should contact Davis at 257-3877.

Kiwanis Karnival
The Kiwanis Karnival started many, many years prior to the Egg Festival. The kiddie parade on Thursday night starts the Kiwanis Karnival and the fireworks, which are sponsored by the Greater Pittsfield Area Kiwanis, ends the event on Saturday night.
The Greater Pittsfield Area Kiwanis raises the majority of its funds from all of the activities that they sponsor. They host all the rides; games; kiddie games; hot dog, onion rings and French fry booths. The beano, raffle, kiddie parade and bouncing ball tent are all part of the Kiwanis Karnival.
All the funds that are raised by the Kiwanis at these activities are put back into the surrounding communities through scholarships, food banks, donations to other local organizations and Terrific Kids programs to name a few. The Greater Pittsfield Area Kiwanis also sponsors the Nokomis Key Club and the M.C.I. Key Club.

Central Maine Egg Festival Pageant:
The Central Maine Egg Festival Pageant is scheduled for Thursday, July 21st at Millennium Bridal, located on Route 100 (Oxbow Road) in Palmyra. The pageant is open to all girls in grades six through freshmen in college. The entry fee is $100 per contestant. Each contestant may have up to two sponsors.
The pageant will feature three age categories:
Princess Petite – grades 6 through 8, winners receive crown, sash, trophy and $150;
Princess – grades 9 and 10, winner receives crown, sash, trophy and $500;
Queen – grades 11 through college freshmen, winner receives crown, sash, trophy and $2,000.
Judging criteria is as follows: 20% academics; 35% interview; 20% onstage question; and 25% poise/appearance.
Those interested in participating in this years Central Maine Egg Festival Pageant are asked to contact Terri at 368-4640.
Festival booklets are available at many locations around Pittsfield, including the town office and is dedicated to the late Florence McLeod this year, who was a longtime supporter of the festival.
